PADI SPECIALTY CERTIFICATION RATES
Specialties allow divers to broaden their experience in a variety of ways while under the guidance of an instructor. Classroom sessions are more like dive briefings, and there are no exams. Each Specialty requires from two to four dives, depending on which Specialty you choose. If you already have your Advanced Open Water c-card, the dives that you logged for the course count as the first dive of the respective Specialty. Equipment is not included (see note below).
